The tweet that included these quotations was in a thread of anti-Jewish tweets. I do not in any way support the antisemitism, but the two included quotations from Musk about his claims about Grok are the reason I have included this here.

I don’t understand why people don’t immediately see that Elon Musk is a conman when he makes statements like this.
Ignoring Musk’s habit of stealing material from famous science fiction writers without giving credit, Large Language Modle (LLM) artificial intelligence (AI) determines what string of text is statistically the most likely response, much like autocomplete in searches.
There is no possibility of LLM AI understanding anything, at a deep or shallow level. The LLM AI has no more understanding than a pocket calculator.
Musk shows about a third grade (8 year old boy) understanding of mathematics, science, engineering, and computer software.
Musk talks in the manner of a lazy entitled rich kid eight year old boy trying to sound like a know it all. Why doesn’t everyone easily see through that?

Musk donated $45 million, about 1/3 of the initial donations.
Musk demanded that OpenAI be merged into Tesla.
Then Musk demanded OpenAI go for-profit with Musk owning the company.

Elon Musk knows so little about AI that he anthropomorphizes AI as having curiosity. Musk also fails to realize that LLM neural nets are based on statistical probability rather than some absoulte truth.

Large corporations (not just Musk’s, but also Microsoft, Google, and many others) using people’s creative content is both a massive invasion of privacy and violation of content creator’s copyrights.
The predatory wealthy class views large scale invasion of privacy and copyright theft as a “goldmine”.
