Elon Musk uses the big lie to deflect criticism of his budget cuts. The initial response was that the funding cut was a Democratic lie. Then the response was that the passed in a different law.
On orders from Elon Musk, Republcians removed $130 million for child cancer research, specifically targeting what Musk believes is waste and inefficiency in the government.

The bipartisan bill would avoid a Friday shutdown deadline that would impact thousands of federal employees and keep the government funded through March 14th. Another critic of the bill is nillionaire Elon Musk, the co-chair of Trump’s new Department of Government Efficiency. In fact, he’s taken to social media to his platform X say quote this bill should not pass. Johnson responding to the feedback in an interview [on Fox News] "They understand the situation. Elon Musk doesn’t understand the Latin phrase Vox populi, vox dei. He thinks it means the opposite of what it actually means. Because Musk has the education level of an eight year old rich kid entitled brat.

A government deficit is not in itself a danger to the economy or the government. Musk’s real goal is to strip the working class of Social Security, Medicare, and other social safety nets.
