There are severe well-known problems with plastic recycling. That criticism of the bottling industry has been known for decades.
This is a good example of how little Elon Musk actually knows about or understands science despite his conman campaign to convince people he is a science and engineering genius.
Musk easily fell for the politicization of the problem with plastic recycling to demonize all recycling.
